Is maple syrup glycemic causing spikes in blood sugar?

A friend sent me this message and I want to know if it's true:

"Maple syrup is glycemic; it makes your blood sugar spike. Agave nectar looks and is used like honey but it won't spike you."

Thanks

Is maple syrup glycemic causing spikes in blood sugar?
Maple syrup or anything containing high concentrations of sugar will cause your blood sugar to spike. Agave nectar is primarilly used in the distallation of tequila, thus if you have a blood sugar problem alcohol can be problematic since it turns to sugar in your blood and stomach.
Reply:All syrup whether maple, corn or whatever will cause spikes in blood sugar. Agave nectar is metabolized slower causing a gradual rise in blood sugar instead of a sharp spike.
Reply:Maple syrup and Agave are concentrated sweeteners that will create a case of hyperglycemia.
Reply:Yes, there is a lot of sugar in Maple Syrup....
