Can diabetics use Agave Nectar as a sweetener ???
It really depends what type diabetic you are and how severe it is. Any type of sugar, sweetener or carb can increase your glucose and blood pressure levels. Agave has a lower glucose content than other sweeteners. I have done lots of research on this and have found that avoiding these foods and increasing your protein and good fats will maintain your blood sugar level. If you wanted to you could try testing your glucose level first and then have maybe a couple drops of it by itself and then test your glucose level a few minutes after to see for yourself how it effects you personally. I'd suggest having plenty of protein that day before hand though. I also wouldn't suggest any sweetener on a regular basis. Stevia through Amazon herbs is a safe alternative to a sweetener , doesn't cause bloating or cramping, and has a great flavor. (and sorry, but I don't sell it, just used it myself). A single drop of that goes a long way. If making a dessert, you might play with it ...depending on how large the the portion, maybe up to 7 drops but just for yourself I think 4 would work out well. Hope that helps!
Reply:fructose or stevia would be better
Reply:Does the container have nutrition information on it? If so, the carbohydrate data should give the info your friend needs to know in order to deal with the food.
