Maple syrup subsitute in stir fry recipe?

I'm making an Asian noodle stir fry that calles for real maple syrup in the sauce mixture. I don't have any on hand. What can I use instead or must I run to the store for the syrup? What I do have is agave nectar, honey, pancake and waffle syrup (the cheap artificial kind) and maybe corn syrup. Or should I just omit it? Thanks! Also it calls for 2 tablespoons of the real maple syrup, so please let me know any subsituting measurements.

Just use the artificially flavored syrup you've got. 2 tablespoons is a very small amount...too small to taste the difference.
Reply:Well i wouldn't say waffle syrup because i think they are both the same lol. but honey is a great substitute and also corn syrup is also very good all you have to do is add suger to it and its a great replacement. also i don tknow if this will work but try brown suger and white suger together with corn syrup that is what maple suryp is all made of hope this helps :)

and good luck with that stir fry i love stir fry in fact u make me hungry im gonna make bacon and egg stir fry! here is the recipe:

Bacon (as many as you want also depends on the people)

3 large eggs

White or brown rice (white is better for this kind of stir fry)

Soy sauce or your kind of flavour

your choice of spices

and a hint of garlic and ginger to give it a little taste

I hope you all like it i love it
Reply:well i would use the pancake syrup and a bit of the corn syrup to get the right consistency...the maple syrup is thicker than pancake syrup, so if you use just pancake syrup the sauce mixture will be a bit thinner...however I'm sure that if you just want to use the pancake syrup that it would probably be ok.
Reply:I would use the honey , not the artificial syrup, then make sure I buy real maple syrup. Its definately more expensive but its worth it.
Reply:I'd use the waffle syrup. Then throw it away and get some real maple syrup. You deserve it.
Reply:Either waffle syrup or honey.
