What is the difference between agave and aloe?

Agave can live well over 100 years. It blooms once after 100 years and then it dies. But in death it leaves behind hundreds of shoots that will continue it's own life.





Aloe is a beautiful plant, but it neither blooms nor lives to be 100 years old.

What is the difference between agave and aloe?
Two different plants, similar looking succulents. Agave you get tequila, the other lotion.
